Weighing 800Kg's/m3 the hardwood durable and logs that have been lying on the forest floor for decades produce high quality sawn boards. It sands and finishes well. It is used for turning and carving.

The sapwood (not often used) is a creamy yellow, with a sharp boundary between it and the heartwood.
