We have set the range of these bodies to be compatible with most tea light holder designs (on either body) as well as many salt or pepper pot designs and these offer an excellent expansion grip for many projects. The end of the jaw

is dovetailed so can be used on its own as a delicate grip – or the jaw can be inserted full length using the back jaw face as a register and providing wall support to prevent the workpiece being knocked from a dovetail only grip. The dovetail at the end provides additional security in expansion mode.

Coronet Hawk Multi-Tooth Drive Centres

The multi-tooth drive centres feature a ring of teeth around the circumference of the tip, with a central drive point to give accurate positioning. This design gives an extremely strong grip, thanks to the many points of contact in the timber, which also minimises the risk of splitting the timber.

On the multi-tooth drive centre the grip is spread across many small teeth rather than 4 or 6 prongs, it is possible to grip the timber sufficiently just by using the clamping pressure of the lathe tailstock - no need to drive the tips into the wood with a mallet. Another benefit of this design is that your work can be removed from the lathe and accurately repositioned, using the centre point and ting of teeth as an accurate guide. These drives also give a fantastic grip to paper-joint wood blanks, as the ring of teeth grip on many points across the drive’s circumference across both sections of wood on either side of the joint. The 32 mm diameter drive centre is ideal for holding side-grain bowl blanks. It is also suitable for holding natural-edged bowls between centres, particularly if seated inside a 32 mm diameter recess, for extra support from the recess walls. The 16 and 22 mm drive centres are ideal for holding spindle work.

Elipse P3 Half Mask Respirator

The Elipse range of respirators are made in Great Britain. The mask body is made from TPE (Thermo Plastic Elastomer) a flexible material which is designed to fit the contours of the face to provide a tight seal. The filter material is known as HESPA (High Efficiency Synthetic Particulate Airfilter). Together they provide absolute protection for woodworkers. The Elipse P3 has the highest classification for a particulate filter. Surpassing the European standard EN143 by achieved 99.98% filtration at 0.3 micron. It is therefore ideal for woodturners and woodworkers, giving complete protection, even when sanding. The twin filter arrangement consists of a light weight half face mask that is comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The low profile filters provide an unobstructed field of vision. Two adjustable elastic straps securely fasten the mask to the wearer. The two strap system allows the wearer to quickly put the mask on and off the face, whilst still wearing it around the neck. Can be worn with glasses ,without causing any steaming, and other PPE safety products including visors and helmets. It is perfect for everyday use by hobby and professional users. Other applications include metalworking, welding and stonemasonry. The Elipse P3 provides protection against dust particles, metal fumes (smoke), asbestos, oil and water mists, vapours, bacteria and viruses. Replacement filters are easily fitted.

U-Beaut Shellawax Glow 500ml

Shellawax Glow is darker than regular Shellawax (a deep honey to tan colour). It is made from a special blend of shellacs and is designed to give more depth and richness to highly figured timbers like fiddleback, birdseye, flame and quilted woods. It will also give more richness and a sense of depth to many other timbers.

Shellawax Glow is identical in use and all other respects to regular Shellawax. It is applied in the same way and has all the same properties. It can also be mixed with Shellawax Cream as an extender and thinner and can be used over EEE-Ultra Shine.

This polish may darken white woods ever so slightly, so it is a good idea to try it on a scrap piece first to make sure it doesn't darken more than you want.

USING SHELLAWAX CREAM AS A SHELLAWAX GLOW EXTENDER Shellawax Glow can be mixed with Shellawax Cream as an extender. This allows for better use of these products on large turned work and for hand rubbed work. For bowls over (6”) 150mm diam, mix the Cream and Shellawax Glow at the rate of approx 50/50 this will give you a runny cream that will stay on the surface longer and allow you more time to work it into the timber.

Use different mixing rates for various jobs 20% Cream to 80% Shellawax Glow for large platters etc up to 900mm (3’) diam and larger.

SHELLAWAX GLOW AS A THINNER Use Shellawax as a thinner for Shellawax Cream, which often thickens with use. This will also extend the life of the Cream. The slight colour difference will not effect the colour of Cream when used.
