For anyone turning salt and pepper mills using a CrushGrind mechanism, this is an essential tool in obtaining the correct depth and size of recesses needed to enable the mechanism to work correctly. The step or shoulder of the tool gives an accurate position of the recess required for the base section of the mill. The small V notch on the right hand side allows the other groove to be produced in the top section when it is lined up with the outer face. The CrushGrind tool will give accurate and effortless results time and again. -
The round is a general purpose cutter for the rapid removal of material inside and outside bowls and hollow forms. It works equally efficiently on spindle work. The detail point offers an excellent choice for roughing down square stock to round and for creating fine detail, while the square is useful for generating square shoulders on tenons. It is also excellent for spindle work. Both the square and round cutters deliver an extremely fine finish that requires little or no sanding when the TurnMaster is switched to shear scraping mode. Manufactured with the highest quality micro grade tungsten carbide these cutters will provide incredible durability and endurance. Sharpening: Use a diamond file or diamond plate flat across the top face. To gain best results and increase the longevity of the cutter this simple procedure should be done little and often. Use the TurnMaster cutter holder to reshape the profile on the Robert Sorby ProEdge using a diamond belt or on a grinding wheel using diamond or other high density abrasive material.
