When it is critical to drill a hole at a certain angle or the hole needs to be stopped at a specific depth, there really is no substitute for a dedicated drilling machine. By setting up the work piece and clamping it to the table all guesswork is eliminated and accurate and repeat drilling becomes simple and easy. Record Power have long had a reputation for fine drilling machines and our current range is no exception. Making extensive use of steel and cast iron and driven by a powerful induction motor, the DP58P can be expected to give reliable service for many years. The headstock in particular is made from a large casting to give rigidity and absorb vibration. The large, heavy table is fitted with rack and pinion rise and fall. The machine has 12 speeds, making it suitable for drilling metal as well as wood. This is particularly useful as most woodworkers have the occasional need to drill metal for hinges, brackets and plating etc. and it can be very frustrating to have the right machine for the job but not the right speeds. Record Power have a high reputation for quality drilling machines and we believe that when this machine is compared to others in the market at similar (or greater) prices the value for money it represents will be quickly appreciated.

A good quality, dedicated drilling machine is an indispensable tool in any workshop. The DP25B brings this versatility, along with traditional Record Power build quality and reliability, within easy reach of the home woodworker and discerning DIY enthusiast. A wide variety of bits can be accepted and the five speeds allow for a great variety of materials to be drilled, including wood, metal, plastic and many others. The cast iron table can tilt up to 45º and will accept most drill press vices, allowing secure holding for increased accuracy and safety. When extra capacity is needed the table can be moved to the side of the machine so the base can be used as a working table, which also accepts drill press vices. For further strength and performance, the headstock also features cast iron, adding weight to reduce vibration, along with a cast iron handwheel. The DP25B features an easy to use locking collar depth stop. To support it's large capacities, the machine features a rack and pinion table support mechanism, a feature often only found on much larger machines, representing excellent value for a machine in this price range.

Laguna 18|36 REVO Lathe is designed for the user. Strength, stability and control are at the heart throughout to satisfy true specialists and woodturning professionals. One of the striking features of the lathe is an ergonomic panel with controls mounted in an anodized aluminium plate. The speed is smoothly controlled with a tactile rubber augmented knurled aluminium dial. Add the blue hue of the speed indicator and this machine stands out from the competition. The solid bed, with an impressive width of 208mm, is made of high-quality steel ASTM A36 (tougher than cast iron), and is precisely ground providing smooth travel of the headstock, tailstock and toolrest. The spindle is run by a highly efficient induction motor with a VFD frequency convertor for high torque even at lower speeds. The speed range can be changed with a clever one-lever mechanism. The headstock, tailstock and legs of the lathe are made from cast-iron securing minimum vibration and high comfort for turning of oversized pieces. Tailstock and Headstock cam lock levers are placed on the back of the machine and will not get in the way. All cam lock levers have soft grip handles and a long length resulting in a firm feel with no deflection. Supplied with 2MT four prong drive centre, 2MT revolving tail centre, 75mm (3") diameter faceplate, knock-out bar, onboard storage for accessories, 1.8m power cable with UK 3 pin plug.

  • Innovation has been key to the progress of the Laguna brand and it is fully embraced here in the REVO 12/16 Midi Lathe. To overcome the issues of a traditional DC motor (Low torque at low speed and inability to achieve very low speeds) the controller uses the revolutionary Pulse Width Modulation system which feeds a succession of voltage pulses to the motor, monitoring the speed and automatically making adjustments to keep the speed constant. The result is a fantastic level of torque even at the incredibly low speed of 50rpm. The controls are mounted in an anodized aluminium plate, the ergonomic design is well positioned with a clear digital speed read out and easy access to all controls. The variable speed is smoothly controlled with a tactile rubber augmented knurled aluminium dial - A joy to use. Supplied with 2MT four prong drive centre, 2MT revolving tail centre, 75mm (3") diameter faceplate, 1.8m power cable with UK 3 pin plug.

  • Record Sabre-250 10" Bandsaw, by taking the most relevant features from the existing SABRE series and applying them to the BS250, Record believe they have produced the best benchtop bandsaw available on the market below £400 / €500. The end result is a premium-quality, affordable bandsaw which retains the compact size of the BS250 while offering improved capacities, usability, accuracy and performance.
  • The BM16 is a compact bench mounted morticer, introducing new levels of accuracy, ease of use and industrial features at an affordable price. The table is finely ground cast iron and moves smoothly and effortlessly front to back and side to side on machined dovetail slides. To ensure unsurpassed accuracy, the slides are fully adjustable using the easily accessible gib strips. An important feature of the table is the heavy and solid clamp, the likes of which are usually only seen on more industrial machines, which holds workpieces extremely securely, ensuring no movement during operation. The clamp is also repositionable, allowing a wide range of timber sizes to be accommodated. Movement of the chisel is similarly smooth and accurate, with a gas spring and dovetail slides, which feature adjustable gib strips, allowing cuts to be made with ease and precision. To further increase accuracy and speed of use, the BM16 also features sideways movement stops as well as vertical movement stops. These stops allow the depth and width of mortices to be set in order to achieve consistent results again and again.

This new and upgraded machine has an industrial-inspired design with a heavy-duty motor and offers improved power, stability and performance. It features fully adjustable tool rests with solid locking mechanisms to give optimum support. The cast iron base and sturdy body reduce vibration to give the smooth operation that is essential for successful and accurate sharpening. Rubber feet also dampen vibration whilst ensuring the grinder does not move during use. The wide body of the machine further increases stability and minimises the load on the bearings for increased life. The 40 mm white stone is ideal for giving a fine finish, particularly to HSS turning tools, while the more coarse grey stone is perfect for rougher grinding and shaping. In addition, the spark guard of the white wheel features a magnifying lens to aid fine sharpening. The build quality and reliability of this grinder is significantly higher than some of the more common and cheaper machines which generally have lower powered motors and are substantially lighter. Record Power grinders are designed to give many years of service and replacement stones are readily available should the original ones become worn out, a sure sign of the robustness of these machines.

This Planer Thicknesser is perfectly suited to the discerning woodworker who expects professional, reliable performance from a solid and durable machine but doesn’t have the space or budget for a larger industrial machine. Heavy duty cast iron tables give this machine a degree of accuracy not found elsewhere on machines of this capacity or price bracket - infeed table is easily and accurately adjusted using the robust lever and clear depth scale. In addition, the PT107 also boasts an outfeed table adjustment facility, meaning truly exact calibration can be achieved to ensure superior accuracy when planing. For easy, rapid conversion to thicknessing mode, the hood is a large, steel one-piece swinging design. The thicknessing table is supported by a substantial central column, giving plenty of support to even the heaviest workpieces. To aid the thicknessing of particularly difficult stock, a clutch is provided on the thicknessing feed to allow removal of stock if jamming occurs. This also means that the thicknesser can be disengaged when not in use to save wear and tear on internal parts.
