Chestnut Drill Polishing Brush, which fits any electric drill or can also be used with the Buffing Wheel System, will give a higher gloss and more resilient finish to any waxed piece. In use, the bristles splay out in a mushroom shape, making this brush ideal for polishing spindles and cylinders. It can be used on flat surfaces but is prone to leave rings so the drum brush or dome brush are recommended for this application. The stock of the brush is about 10cm and the bristles are 4cm long. If the bristles of the brush become clogged with wax simply wash it in warm soapy water and allow to dry before use. -

While this resin has been manufactured to resist scratching and resistance to marking from heat sources we must stress this resin will still mark if sharp items are moved across the surface or hot items are placed on the surface.
As with all casting products, we stress that customers should purchase a small amount to perform initial tests to ensure suitability for their project and requirements.
Pigmentation Epoxy pigments are the recommended system to colour this resin however the polyester range of pigments will also work. Please read the Technical and Safety Data sheets prior to use. We recommend small scale testing to ensure compatibility before using at full scale. Cold Weather Notice Cooler temperatures in the UK and Ireland around mid-autumn to mid spring are not ideal conditions for water clear epoxy systems, this can increase the chances of crystallisation in the resin (this can occur at room temperature depending on circumstances, it is however much less common). Appearance can differ depending on the degree of crystallisation, from small lumps sitting on the surface to a hazy/milky white appearance, extreme cases the contents may completely solidify. Crystallisation occurs due to a phase change from liquid or solid similar to that of water turning to ice, fortunately it is easily reversed by warming the epoxy component to 60°c. Ensure any crystals are completely removed as remaining crystals can act as a seed causing the crystals to form again quite quickly. Lab results show the heating cycle to remove crystals can be repeated on multiple occasions before beginning to suffer from any losses in resin properties. The central locating pin of the drive centre retracts into its body when pressure is applied from the lathe tailstock, leaving the ring of teeth around the circumference to hold the workpiece extremely securely, with clamping pressure spread evenly across the teeth. The retraction of the locating pin means it cannot split the timber, making it ideal for use with smaller and more delicate work.The locating pin tension is adjustable, allowing for lower tension to be set for small, delicate workpieces and higher tension for use with hard woods and large timbers.Another key benefit of this design is that the workpiece can be removed from the lathe if required and easily repositioned, using the indentations created by the locating pin and ring of teeth as an accurate guide. -

For anyone turning salt and pepper mills using a CrushGrind mechanism, this is an essential tool in obtaining the correct depth and size of recesses needed to enable the mechanism to work correctly. The step or shoulder of the tool gives an accurate position of the recess required for the base section of the mill. The small V notch on the right hand side allows the other groove to be produced in the top section when it is lined up with the outer face.
