Out of stockWhen it is critical to drill a hole at a certain angle or the hole needs to be stopped at a specific depth, there really is no substitute for a dedicated drilling machine. By setting up the work piece and clamping it to the table all guesswork is eliminated and accurate and repeat drilling becomes simple and easy. Record Power have long had a reputation for fine drilling machines and our current range is no exception. Making extensive use of steel and cast iron and driven by a powerful induction motor, the DP58P can be expected to give reliable service for many years. The headstock in particular is made from a large casting to give rigidity and absorb vibration. The large, heavy table is fitted with rack and pinion rise and fall. The machine has 12 speeds, making it suitable for drilling metal as well as wood. This is particularly useful as most woodworkers have the occasional need to drill metal for hinges, brackets and plating etc. and it can be very frustrating to have the right machine for the job but not the right speeds. Record Power have a high reputation for quality drilling machines and we believe that when this machine is compared to others in the market at similar (or greater) prices the value for money it represents will be quickly appreciated.

When more than one hose branch is being used, it is advisable to close off all the inactive lines using these gates to ensure maximum airflow along the active line. These aluminium blast gates are far stronger than the plastic ones and are therefore more suitable to a trade or professional environment. The centre plate simply slides between the open and closed position and can be locked in position. The blast gate has two 100mm (4") connections. Our 100mm hose can be connected directly and secured with a hose clamp, 100HC. Blast gates can be attached directly to a 100mm diameter outlet on a machine using a tapered joining sleeve, 100SL. Gates are also commonly attached to a splitter (T-Branch or Y-Branch) using a tapered joining sleeve. You can mount the gate wherever is the most convenient position.

Out of stockFor anyone turning salt and pepper mills using a CrushGrind mechanism, this is an essential tool in obtaining the correct depth and size of recesses needed to enable the mechanism to work correctly. The step or shoulder of the tool gives an accurate position of the recess required for the base section of the mill. The small V notch on the right hand side allows the other groove to be produced in the top section when it is lined up with the outer face. The CrushGrind tool will give accurate and effortless results time and again.

The Hardwood Scraper is different in that it has a negative rake on the bevel. It is designed to reduce or eliminate tear-out of the fibres of wood leaving a highly polished surface on all types of wood. This feature is particularly highly sought after by those working in the typically hard woods like African Blackwood. Musical instrument makers find the Hardwood Scraper a particularly useful addition to their collection of lathe tools. It is equally effective on spindle and faceplate work.

Delicately balanced tools that are the planes of the spindle turners tool kit. Originally designed at Robert Sorby, the profile allows the tool to glide effortlessly along the tool rest without fear of the edges dragging on the rest. They will smooth cylinders, clean the end grain of spindles, cut shallow curves, beads, pummels and v-cuts, e.g. stair balustrading and chair legs. These tools are indispensable if a fine finish is required from the tool.
