Bocote (Mexican Rosewood) is dark green brown timber with a white sapwood. Easily turned to a very fine finish. -

Heartwood is a vivid red when freshly cut, toning down to a medium to dark purple-brown on exposure, often with fine black lines. Sapwood is wide and greyish-white. Straight to interlocked grain with course texture. Finishes very well, tends to be dusty.
