This ring centre features two high quality sealed-for-life bearings, giving extremely smooth rotation. The ring design gives a larger area of contact than a traditional live centre for an increased grip. This makes it ideal for supporting small or brittle timbers and works very well with paper-jointed blanks, giving a strong grip to both pieces of timber either side of the joint. Another great advantage of this design is that workpieces can be removed and refitted to the lathe accurately, thanks to the positive location of the centre point and ring, which can be used for easy registration. -

This large faceplate ring is ideal for holding large bowl blanks and due to its strong hold is also suitable for more out of balance timber. With a cast iron table at the heart of this compact machine it is designed to offer those with limited space or budgets a real bandsaw with sensible capacity and performance, as an alternative to lightweight hobby machines. The BS250 should not be confused with the lightweight hobby machines available in the market at a similar price. To complement the new pin jaws, the mini spigot jaws have also been improved.
