The central locating pin of the drive centre retracts into its body when pressure is applied from the lathe tailstock, leaving the ring of teeth around the circumference to hold the workpiece extremely securely, with clamping pressure spread evenly across the teeth. The retraction of the locating pin means it cannot split the timber, making it ideal for use with smaller and more delicate work.The locating pin tension is adjustable, allowing for lower tension to be set for small, delicate workpieces and higher tension for use with hard woods and large timbers.Another key benefit of this design is that the workpiece can be removed from the lathe if required and easily repositioned, using the indentations created by the locating pin and ring of teeth as an accurate guide. -

Having two more teeth than the traditional 4-prong drive centres, they are ideal for use on hardwoods and larger pieces of wood.

This live centre kit gives woodturners a huge amount of flexibility, allowing for a wide range of work to be undertaken. The finely engineered live centre body features two sealed-for-life bearings for faultless, smooth performance. The high-precision manufacture ensure that the tips are a perfect fit in the live centre body and a rubber O-ring holds them in place securely. The tips are easily removed from the lathe tailstock using the supplied knockout bar. In addition to the many operations the tips make possible, the live centre body itself can be used to carry out long hole boring – with no tips fitted, it acts as a ring centre to support the workpiece and the body is fully bored to accept the standard 5/16” (8 mm) long hole boring augers.
Coronet Falcon Interchangeable Live Centre Traditional Tip
This traditional design features a 60º tip, to give effective penetration into the workpiece, supporting large timbers well. It is ideal for use on spindle work and can also be used to support headstock-mounted bowls and larger vessels from the tailstock. Internal support can be given to pre-bored timbers with bores from 1 to 43 mm in diameter, across the full range of the live centre cone taper.
Coronet Falcon Interchangeable Live Centre Detail Tip
This elongated single-point tip gives greater access to the workpiece at the tailstock - ideal for removing the bottoms of bowls, creating small dowels and much more. The tip is angled at 90º rather than the traditional 60º, ensuring the load is spread across a larger area, reducing the chance of splitting small, delicate workpieces.
Coronet Falcon Interchangeable Live Centre Multi-Tooth Tip
This multi-tooth live centre tip features a ring of teeth around the circumference, with a central drive point to give accurate positioning. This design gives an extremely strong grip, thanks to the many points of contact in the timber, which also minimises the risk of splitting the timber.
As the grip is spread across many small teeth rather than 4 or 6 prongs, it is possible to grip the timber sufficiently just by using the clamping pressure of the lathe tailstock.
Another benefit of this design is that your work can be removed from the lathe and accurately repositioned, using the markings created in the timber by the centre point and ring of teeth as an accurate guide.
This tip also gives a fantastic grip to paper-joint wood blanks, as the ring of teeth grip on many points across the drive’s circumference across both sections of wood on either side of the joint.

Coronet Falcon Interchangeable Live Centre Pen Turning Tip
The pen turning tip is a game-changer for pen turners. Rather than use the screw at the tailstock end of the pen mandrel to secure the pen blanks, mechanisms and spacers in place, the pen turning tip simply slides over the mandrel and registers against the spacers. Tailstock clamping pressure is then used to secure the pen components in place between the headstock and tailstock.
This method means that no pressure is applied to the mandrel itself, eliminating the risk of bowing the mandrel which can cause the final pen to have uneven wall thickness, which in turn stops the pen’s components aligning correctly. Using the pen tip will help you create the most accurate and well-made pen possible. In addition, this method is fast, easy and secure, making it a great time-saving operation for prolific pen turners.

This ring centre features two high quality sealed-for-life bearings, giving extremely smooth rotation. The ring design gives a larger area of contact than a traditional live centre for an increased grip. This makes it ideal for supporting small or brittle timbers and works very well with paper-jointed blanks, giving a strong grip to both pieces of timber either side of the joint. This Planer Thicknesser is perfectly suited to the discerning woodworker who expects professional, reliable performance from a solid and durable machine but doesn’t have the space or budget for a larger industrial machine. Heavy duty cast iron tables give this machine a degree of accuracy not found elsewhere on machines of this capacity or price bracket - infeed table is easily and accurately adjusted using the robust lever and clear depth scale. In addition, the PT107 also boasts an outfeed table adjustment facility, meaning truly exact calibration can be achieved to ensure superior accuracy when planing. For easy, rapid conversion to thicknessing mode, the hood is a large, steel one-piece swinging design. The thicknessing table is supported by a substantial central column, giving plenty of support to even the heaviest workpieces. To aid the thicknessing of particularly difficult stock, a clutch is provided on the thicknessing feed to allow removal of stock if jamming occurs. This also means that the thicknesser can be disengaged when not in use to save wear and tear on internal parts.

These jaws are able to hold the smallest work pieces. The convex internal radius on each jaw is designed to avoid damage to small and fragile work. The BS300E is a great all rounder perfectly specified for the medium sized workshop where a range of duties will be required.Featuring a solid fence, vital for accurate ripping, which has a heavy extrusion mounted on a cast iron base and fixed to a solid steel bar for maximum rigidity and support. This is based on an industrial Startrite design and much more solid than other fences at this level. The machine also features a solid double trunnion fence mount to provide rigid table support and one-handed table tilt on a smooth rack and pinion. Adding to the structural integrity of the BS300E are the cast iron bandwheels which are fitted with precision ground rubber tyres to provide a flywheel effect for smooth cutting. A solid blade tension indicator is fitted to the rear of the machine to allow for easy setup. The BS300E is also supplied with a basic wheel kit as standard. -

This features an open legstand, often requested by our users as it provides greater stability and can be used with an optional pedal style wheelkit. A basic wheelkit is provided as standard. The bandwheels are cast iron and dynamically balanced with precision ground, crowned rubber tyres usually only found on much more expensive industrial machines – the flywheel effect of the cast iron wheels improves cutting performance and speeds. Our tables are some of the largest in their category and a one piece cast double trunnion has been designed to provide even greater support and rigidity. The rip fence is the strongest and most industrial in its category with a chromed fence and the mount machined from a single piece of cast iron. The extrusion itself is a heavy section to provide rigidity and accuracy. -

The DML305 cast iron lathe represents a new benchmark in high quality midi lathes and is perfect for the user with minimal space or as a second lathe for demonstrations and shows. The bed is made from finely ground cast iron for weight and rigidity and fitted with cam locking tool rests that clamp easily and solidly to the bed with one handed operation. The machine has 393 mm between centres as standard and an optional bed extension can be added to increase this capacity.
The swing over the bed is 305 mm and the motor is 1/2 hp, providing plenty of power for the capacities of these machines. The spindle has an M33 thread to ensure a wide range of Record Power accessories can be fitted.
This lathe is extremely well finished with polished metal handles, spindle locks with indexing and graduated markings on the tailstock barrels. Many of these features are normally only found on expensive professional lathes.
