The central locating pin of the drive centre retracts into its body when pressure is applied from the lathe tailstock, leaving the ring of teeth around the circumference to hold the workpiece extremely securely, with clamping pressure spread evenly across the teeth. The retraction of the locating pin means it cannot split the timber, making it ideal for use with smaller and more delicate work. The locating pin tension is adjustable, allowing for lower tension to be set for small, delicate workpieces and higher tension for use with hard woods and large timbers.Another key benefit of this design is that the workpiece can be removed from the lathe if required and easily repositioned, using the indentations created by the locating pin and ring of teeth as an accurate guide.
-
- The multi-tooth drive centres feature a ring of teeth around the circumference of the tip, with a central drive point to give accurate positioning. This design gives an extremely strong grip, thanks to the many points of contact in the timber, which also minimises the risk of splitting the timber.

Only the heartwood of cocobolo is used; it is usually orange or reddish-brown, often with darker irregular traces weaving through the wood. The heartwood changes colour after being cut, and can be polished to a lustrous, glassy finish; being quite dense, sometimes having a specific gravity of over 1.0, it will sink in water. The sapwood (not often used) is a creamy yellow, with a sharp boundary between it and the heartwood.
-
- The design of the 6-prong drive centres offers an enhanced grip to timber using the principle of opposing tooth profiles. The central point of the tool secures the drive centre in place, the six teeth around it grip the timber securely and the opposing tooth pattern ensures the wood fibres are pulled together to reduce the chance of splitting. Having two more teeth than the traditional 4-prong drive centres, they are ideal for use on hardwoods and larger pieces of wood.
-
This live centre kit gives woodturners a huge amount of flexibility, allowing for a wide range of work to be undertaken. The finely engineered live centre body features two sealed-for-life bearings for faultless, smooth performance. The high-precision manufacture ensure that the tips are a perfect fit in the live centre body and a rubber O-ring holds them in place securely. The tips are easily removed from the lathe tailstock using the supplied knockout bar. In addition to the many operations the tips make possible, the live centre body itself can be used to carry out long hole boring – with no tips fitted, it acts as a ring centre to support the workpiece and the body is fully bored to accept the standard 5/16” (8 mm) long hole boring augers.
Coronet Falcon Interchangeable Live Centre Traditional Tip
This traditional design features a 60º tip, to give effective penetration into the workpiece, supporting large timbers well. It is ideal for use on spindle work and can also be used to support headstock-mounted bowls and larger vessels from the tailstock. Internal support can be given to pre-bored timbers with bores from 1 to 43 mm in diameter, across the full range of the live centre cone taper.
Coronet Falcon Interchangeable Live Centre Detail Tip
This elongated single-point tip gives greater access to the workpiece at the tailstock - ideal for removing the bottoms of bowls, creating small dowels and much more. The tip is angled at 90º rather than the traditional 60º, ensuring the load is spread across a larger area, reducing the chance of splitting small, delicate workpieces.
Coronet Falcon Interchangeable Live Centre Multi-Tooth Tip
This multi-tooth live centre tip features a ring of teeth around the circumference, with a central drive point to give accurate positioning. This design gives an extremely strong grip, thanks to the many points of contact in the timber, which also minimises the risk of splitting the timber.
As the grip is spread across many small teeth rather than 4 or 6 prongs, it is possible to grip the timber sufficiently just by using the clamping pressure of the lathe tailstock.
Another benefit of this design is that your work can be removed from the lathe and accurately repositioned, using the markings created in the timber by the centre point and ring of teeth as an accurate guide.
This tip also gives a fantastic grip to paper-joint wood blanks, as the ring of teeth grip on many points across the drive’s circumference across both sections of wood on either side of the joint.
It makes an ideal partner to the range of Coronet Hawk Multi-Tooth Drive Centres, allowing timber to be held securely at both ends of the lathe quickly, easily and accurately.
Coronet Falcon Interchangeable Live Centre Pen Turning Tip
The pen turning tip is a game-changer for pen turners. Rather than use the screw at the tailstock end of the pen mandrel to secure the pen blanks, mechanisms and spacers in place, the pen turning tip simply slides over the mandrel and registers against the spacers. Tailstock clamping pressure is then used to secure the pen components in place between the headstock and tailstock.
This method means that no pressure is applied to the mandrel itself, eliminating the risk of bowing the mandrel which can cause the final pen to have uneven wall thickness, which in turn stops the pen’s components aligning correctly. Using the pen tip will help you create the most accurate and well-made pen possible. In addition, this method is fast, easy and secure, making it a great time-saving operation for prolific pen turners.
-
This ring centre features two high quality sealed-for-life bearings, giving extremely smooth rotation. The ring design gives a larger area of contact than a traditional live centre for an increased grip. This makes it ideal for supporting small or brittle timbers and works very well with paper-jointed blanks, giving a strong grip to both pieces of timber either side of the joint. Another great advantage of this design is that workpieces can be removed and refitted to the lathe accurately, thanks to the positive location of the centre point and ring, which can be used for easy registration.
-
This live centre features two high quality sealed-for-life bearings, giving incredibly smooth rotation and the 60º point is optimised to give the best grip possible from a single point of contact. It is ideal for use on spindle work and can also be used to support headstock mounted bowls and larger vessels from the tailstock.

To aid the thicknessing of particularly difficult stock, a clutch is provided on the thicknessing feed to allow removal of stock if jamming occurs. This also means that the thicknesser can be disengaged when not in use to save wear and tear on internal parts.

The Record Power RSBG8 Bench Grinder has a long-established reputation for robustness and reliability, making it the perfect choice for the home workshop. This new and upgraded machine has an industrial-inspired design with a heavy-duty motor and offers improved power, stability and performance. It features fully adjustable tool rests with solid locking mechanisms to give optimum support. The cast iron base and sturdy body reduce vibration to give the smooth operation that is essential for successful and accurate sharpening. Rubber feet also dampen vibration whilst ensuring the grinder does not move during use. The wide body of the machine further increases stability and minimises the load on the bearings for increased life. The 40 mm white stone is ideal for giving a fine finish, particularly to HSS turning tools, while the more coarse grey stone is perfect for rougher grinding and shaping. In addition, the spark guard of the white wheel features a magnifying lens to aid fine sharpening. The build quality and reliability of this grinder is significantly higher than some of the more common and cheaper machines which generally have lower powered motors and are substantially lighter. Record Power grinders are designed to give many years of service and replacement stones are readily available should the original ones become worn out, a sure sign of the robustness of these machines.

The BM16 is a compact bench mounted morticer, introducing new levels of accuracy, ease of use and industrial features at an affordable price. The table is finely ground cast iron and moves smoothly and effortlessly front to back and side to side on machined dovetail slides. To ensure unsurpassed accuracy, the slides are fully adjustable using the easily accessible gib strips. An important feature of the table is the heavy and solid clamp, the likes of which are usually only seen on more industrial machines, which holds workpieces extremely securely, ensuring no movement during operation. The clamp is also repositionable, allowing a wide range of timber sizes to be accommodated. Movement of the chisel is similarly smooth and accurate, with a gas spring and dovetail slides, which feature adjustable gib strips, allowing cuts to be made with ease and precision. To further increase accuracy and speed of use, the BM16 also features sideways movement stops as well as vertical movement stops. These stops allow the depth and width of mortices to be set in order to achieve consistent results again and again.

Sale!Another of the most popular jaws for full size chucks – these are also ideal for smaller chuck projects too. We have set the range of these bodies to be compatible with most tea light holder designs (on either body) as well as many salt or pepper pot designs and these offer an excellent expansion grip for many projects. The end of the jawis dovetailed so can be used on its own as a delicate grip – or the jaw can be inserted full length using the back jaw face as a register and providing wall support to prevent the workpiece being knocked from a dovetail only grip. The dovetail at the end provides additional security in expansion mode.SC1 Expansion: 39 - 47.5 mm Contraction Spigot: 6 - 14.5 mm Contraction Square: 4.5 - 12 mm SC2 Expansion: 39.5 - 60 mm Contraction Spigot: 6 - 26 mm Contraction Square: 4.5 - 25 mm

Llewellyn Ryland Polyester Pigment are coloured liquid/paste mediums based on pigments dispersed within a solvent-free reactive unsaturated polyester resin. They are available in a wide range of colours varying in strength and consistency depending upon the particular colouring application. They have been developed to blend easily into resin systems. The range of colours is based upon pigments carefully selected for colour fastness, opacity, heat stability and having minimum effect upon the curing characteristics of the final system. The resin used with the Polyester Colour Paste is a specially developed solvent-free reactive polyester resin which chemically cross links with the moulding resin so that the colour is "locked in" once the system has cured. They can be used to colour most polyester resin based systems used within the composites or related industry. These Polyester Colour Pastes have excellent stability.

While this resin has been manufactured to resist scratching and resistance to marking from heat sources we must stress this resin will still mark if sharp items are moved across the surface or hot items are placed on the surface.
As with all casting products, we stress that customers should purchase a small amount to perform initial tests to ensure suitability for their project and requirements.

Milliput Epoxy Putty, the two sticks have a long shelf life but once mixed the resultant putty is at first soft and highly adhesive and then gradually hardens. Speed of hardening is dependant on temperature and at normal temperatures (20-25ºC) Milliput becomes rock hard in three to four hours. By the application of heat the setting time can be reduced to a few minutes. After setting hard Milliput continues to cure and is fully cured after an elapse of time equal to the setting time at the same temperature. Once fully cured Milliput can be machined, drilled, tapped, turned, filed, sawn, sandpapered and painted. Milliput can be sandpapered and painted immediately it has set. (it is advisable to wear eye protection during this process). Milliput is an excellent adhesive and will bond any of the following to itself or to any of the others - wood, brick, cement, metals, concrete, plastics, glass etc, but note that Milliput is not intended as a thin layer adhesive and should not be used where a paste, mucilage or thin glue is indicated. Milliput will set under water and is heat resistant up to 130°C. Shelf Life: Recommended that Milliput is stored in cool, dry conditions. Please reseal bags after use. Stored correctly this product should remain workable for about 2 years. Available in six colours: Standard (Yellow/Grey), Terracotta, Silver Grey, Black, Superfine White and Turquoise Blue.
